Stone Home on 5 lots in Rising Star Eastland County Texas

This is a 1,480 sq. ft. stone home located on five lots, .9 acres as per the CAD, that is on the edge of Rising Star, TX 76471. The home has a 600 sq ft shop and a 400 sq ft carport.  The dining room is separate from the kitchen. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher along with lots of cabinets and small pantry. The main bedroom is in the back southwest corner and has its own bathroom.   There are two additional bedrooms and a bathroom.  The living area has a nice fireplace with hearth and mantel. The flooring is a mix between carpet and original hard wood floors. Some of the rooms have ceiling fans, and the home has central heat unit and window units for air. There are many amazing oak and pecan shade trees on the property. There is a water well in the back yard which was functional in the late 1960’s / early 1970’s, but it hasn’t been checked out in many years. The home needs TLC, cleanup, and updates. It is being sold as is, with current contents. Come and make it your own or flip it and make a profit.

Here is a little history about the home - The house was built by Clinton Earnest Smith, long term resident of Rising Star. He built it one room at a time sometime in the late 30’s or early 40’s. It was built as a wood frame to begin with. After completing the house, he added the rock on the outside. The fireplace was also built by C. E. Smith out of petrified wood that he picked up in the Brownwood area while working at Camp Bowie.  C. E. Smith was a very accomplished arborist who grafted and created the pecan tree in the yard close to the road. This tree produced the best, largest paper shell pecans in Texas in the 1960’s. C. E. Smith also helped build the Community Center, now known as the City Market in Rising Star.
